Sexual Sin in the Bible

Fornication, Homosexuality, Adultery... all are sexual sins that God hates...

Strange thing about the "Christian" church today, and the world as a whole. It seems that sexual sin doesn't exist any more, with the exception of Adultery (even though many, many people commit this crime every day and think nothing of it) and prostitution (but not so much any more), and rape or pedophilia.

With the exception of those extremes, people consider fornication and even gay sex as “normal”, and today if you are an adult virgin it's considered strange or abnormal.

God doesn't take it so lightly, however. God is very much against sex, any sex, outside of marriage.

He considers modesty and virtue a very precious thing.

Prov 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

1 Tim 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

God speaks of adultery and fornication over 100 times in the Bible.

Over 100 times! When God considers something important He speaks of it several times in His word. He considers sexual sin so important and so vile that He speaks of it over and over and over.

We're warned over and over in the New Testament to abstain from and FLEE FORNICATION!

1 Cor 6:18 Flee fornication...

Definition of fornication:

Websters dictionary: consensual sexual intercourse between two persons not married to each other

KJV - fornication = (Greek) NT:4202 porneia (por-ni'-ah); from NT:4203; harlotry (including adultery and incest)

Definition of harlotry:
1- sexual profligacy :prostitution
2- an unprincipled or immoral woman

To God, sex outside of marriage is akin to prostitution!

We should "possess our vessel"... and abstain from fornication!

1 Thess 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:  4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 

We shouldn't even keep company with someone who professes Jesus Christ and is a fornicator!

1 Cor 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

Do not be deceived!!! Adulterers, homosexuals, sodomites and fornicators will not inherit the kingdom of God! They will not be saved!

1 Cor 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God - NKJV

When the Apostles considered what should be told to the Gentiles certain Jews were trying to subvert Gentile converts of the Goslpel into obeying the Law of Moses, they brought up fornication as equally bad as eating meat offered to idols!

Acts 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication

God considers adultery to be so bad that it's the only valid reason for divorce and remarriage:

Matt 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery...

God warns that Sodom and Gomorrha are made an example to us of what happens when people give themselves over to sexual sin, fornication and homosexuality!

Jude 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

God hates sexual sin!!! He absolutely hates it!

If you call yourself a Christian, you should hate it too!

Ps 97:10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil...

Prov 6:24 To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. 25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids .

Prov 6:32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

Prov 23:27 For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit.

Yes, this includes pornography and lusting after anyone who is not your spouse!

Matt 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Read this passage from Romans 1 and really, really pay attention to what it says.

Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man - and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. - NKJV

Abstain from fleshly lusts.

Rom 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

If you are Christ's you must crucify your fleshly lusts.

1 Thess 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Walk continually with God, keeping your mind on Him throughout every day, walking in the Spirit and praying without ceasing...
